About This Map

This map is powered by MeshMapper, a purpose-built mapping tool for MeshCore networks. Node positions shown here come directly from GPS data broadcast by each device over the mesh — no manual entry required.

Many other mesh network maps are built by simply dropping pins on a standard internet map (Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, etc.) based on a manually curated list of node locations. While easy to set up, this approach has significant drawbacks: if a node is moved to a new location, powered down, or removed from the network, the map still shows it in its last known spot — sometimes indefinitely. Stale pins give a false impression of coverage, making it hard to know which nodes are actually reachable right now.

MeshMapper addresses this by sourcing node positions from live RF data observed by the network. Nodes that stop broadcasting naturally fall off the map, and position updates propagate automatically as devices report new GPS coordinates. The result is a map that reflects the network as it actually exists, not as it once was.
