About TX power: a TX setting of 22 is correct for most radios. Some radios, such as the Station G2 or G3, need their TX set based on the attenuation of the output signal from cable loss, connectors, etc.

📢 2-Byte Hash Mode 📡
Please ensure your equipment is updated to match the current configuration. Moving to 2-byte addressing helps reduce ID collisions and improves overall mesh reliability.

Verify Current Settings (After Reboot)

To check that the reboot happened, open the "Status" tab and verify the uptime and clock.
🛠️ Recommended Regions for WNY Repeaters
We encourage all repeater operators in our area to load the standard tiered list:

Down the road, we will begin scoping specific public channels to these tiers so you can talk hyper-locally, across the East Coast corridor, or internationally on demand.
⚙️ How to Apply (Quick Setup)
Option 1: Serial / CLI Console
Run these two commands one at a time. Paste and send the first, then paste and send the second.
Step 1: Define Regions
region def na|* us|* east|* northeast|* us-ny|* wny|* onny
Step 2: Save Regions
region save
Option 2: Mobile App / Web UI
- Connect to your repeater.
- Open Settings ➔ Manage Regions.
- Add na, us, east, northeast, us-ny, wny, and onny (ensure flood allowance is toggled on / checked).
- Save your configuration.
Scoping #test Channel to us-ny
Bots and test messages cause lots of unnecessary flood packets and are the number one reason for heavy Channel Utilization.
- Open the #test channel on your companion.
- Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
- Select "Set Region Scope", then tap the +.
- Type us-ny.
Doing so keeps test messages in WNY and is good stewardship for other nearby meshes.
These region settings are very important if we want MeshCore to stay viable despite getting larger. If you know folks who do not follow WNY MeshCore social media, please inform them of these region settings.
